We have been talking about how to explain the changes in the moon, or its phases. There is another change we are all familiar with, but few people really understand the cause: the seasons. In this thread, post YOUR ideas about what might cause the seasons. Of course you could look something up, but copying and pasting something doesn't mean that is what you believe or that you understand it - this is a time to practice your creative thinking, communication, and debate skills. So, rather than spending time looking something up that you may or may not understand - post the first idea you think of to explain why we have different seasons. [glow=red,2,300]We have different seasons because the earth is spinning. why else do we have seasons?? [/glow]

I think that the seasons change in relation to the orbit of the earth around the sun. The father the country is from the equater the colder it gets. I know that this is because the equater is hit the most directly by the sun so maby its just by the way the earth happens to be rotating at that sertain season. So if its winter the sun is not hitting that place very directly and when its summer the sun hits that spot directly, almost.

I think that pretty much that the seasons change because of the earth when it rotates. I also think that it depends on where you live, if you live near the equater or prime merdian that it depends how cold or hot it gets.

I have no idea why the seasons change. At all. It might be because the sun isn't the same temperature all year around or something.

I think why the Earth changes seasons because the Earth is spinning and orbiting the sun at the same time.

I think that we have different seasons because, though this won't make sense, the earth gets closer to the sun during a part of the year and during another part of the year the earth goes back. In other words I beliveve that the earth goes out of it's orbit during a certain time of the year.

I think that the seasons are caused by the way the earth rotates around the sun.

my first reactions of the seasons are that they are ceated by the positon of the erath and where the sun is in relation to our position....

I think the seasons are cause by the earth spinning and orbiting around the sun. And where the sun is positioned around the earh at different times during the year. Or maybe the sun changes temperatures throughout the year. Which causes Earth to cool down or heat up causing the leaves to change, frost, snow etc. ;D Jocelyn i was just gonna put that
