Every year the Earth and moon move further apart. Does this have to do with the Earth losing it's gravitational pull?

I don't think it is. the reason its moving further away is because the earth wants to pull things in and the moon wants to go out, so the moon is moving very fast around the earth and in turn weakening the pull of gravity the earth has on it. so the more it goes around the further out its going to go.

I haven't ever really thought about it, but after someone says something and I think about it more, then it actually sounds a little legit.
What if one day it losese it all together, what would happen?
Would the moon float there?
What would happen to the earth?

I haven't ever really thought about it, but after someone says something and I think about it more, then it actually sounds a little legit.
What if one day it losese it all together, what would happen?
Would the moon float there?
What would happen to the earth? the moon will one day be gone from view of the earth and we just wont have a moon. but that isnt going to happwn for a LONG time |

if it was losing gravitational pull it woul be losing mass true but not, if an object is going fast enough then the gravitational pull on it is weakened. true the object becomes less dence but it dosn't lose mass. (consevation of mass law) |

Anyway, the moon is pulling away because it is moving to fast to stay in orbit forever. If it moved a little slower, then maybe we could keep it. I'm not talking "OMG PUT A ROCKET ON IT AND MAKE IT GO 500 MPH!" i'm saying " PUT A ROCKET ON IT, AND SLOW IT DOWN GRADUALLY OVER A TIME OF LIKE 100 YEARS." Even if we are going apart from the moon this makes no difference seeing that we are millions of miles from other planets, stars and still a good amount of miles from the Sun. This topic is a long term subject.
