I think eggs only float in salt water instead of tap water no because boiled and rotten eggs float in tap water

I think the salt water made the egg float because of the stuff it has in and the tap water is clean and it has nothing in it.

I think it made sense that the egg floated in the salt water and sunk in the tap water because the salt water is more dense then the tap water

i still dont get how salt makes water dense and that the egg floats in salt water and not tap water....

well austin...it sinks because the egg has more density than the tap water..but it floats in the salt water because adding salt to the tap water makes the water have more density than the egg causing the egg to float:]]

I thought that was a very intersiting video. I makes sence because tap water has less chemicalsin the water. So with more chemicals it helps it to float.

If all the water on earth was tap water would we all sink?

yeah i have to agree that fi you drop it in the water it will sink faster because of the velocity it has and if you lay it in there it will be much slower I don't think velocity has anything to do with it. If it floats, it floats, dropping it in should have no affect on that. I agree with Scott's idea because it makes more sense. When a egg is dropped water splashes and the other water tries to fill up that spot with missing water. The water covers over the egg and makes it sink. Because an egg is kinda questionable on whether it floats or not. But the speed of which the egg is going at might effect if it sinks of floats. So Scott's answer is correct in my eyes. ;D ;D

If all the water on earth was tap water would we all sink? Umm that is questionable. We are heavy enough for us to sink but the Earth's land masses might not because it has high volume. But it also has high mass. It would be questionable. ;D

when the guy dropped the egg in the salt water, he gently placed it in. but when he put the egg into the tap water, he pretty much just dropped it. doesn't that have anything to do with whether it floats or sinks? because if you just drop the object it, water goes over it quicker and causes it sink faster. right? i dont think thats right because the egg doesnt have any space in it to fuill up besides it all ready has a liquid insie ;D

I think eggs only float in salt water instead of tap water no because boiled and rotten eggs float in tap water does it really matter that its boiled or rotten patricia

I don't think it really matters how fast he placed the object in Conchita because the salt water is still denser than tap water so it will float anyways even if it was droped in, it might go down then float back up.

Why does the salt effect the water's dense?
