My class and Mr. Wilcox's class are both trying to figure out what is inside of a container (a bucket in Mr. Wilcox's class, a box in Mr. Kruse's class). The contents of the containers are the same in each class, except for one object.
In this thread you can share what you know (or think you know) about the inside of the containers. Perhaps collaboratively each group will more quickly figure out the puzzle.

I really liked this activity because it made me think. I learned that you have to use your imagination sometimes to make a good answer.

I think that in side of the tube or bucket are two srtings but one is longer than the other. One string is looped down and the other sting lays over it so that if you pull the top two strings i it causes the other stings to come in. Now when we experimented in class and shook the tubes we never heard anything else in there except when mr wilcox shook a tube and it was always the same tube because it was the one that had purple paint on the bottom and no other one did, we would hear something that sound like it maybe something like a washer. I believe that the washer is rapped around one of the strings, but this is just what i think.

I agree with what Taylor said since my class experimented and came to a similar conclusion We thought that the ropes were looped, one was longer than another, and that there was metal in the tubes.

I also agree. This made me think more about what I already know to try and figure it out. (I wonder whats really inside thats making it do that!)

This activity was the one where I had you ask questions about the different items instead of a bucket.
I answered some of your questions and not others. During 1st and 2nd period, we had you ask questions of the people observing from Iowa State.
However, the Tube Activity is a thread we may start in the future.

i enjoyed this activity a lot. It made me think about stuff, when the answer isn't obvious. U had to be creative and think "outside the box"

It was fun. you really had to think. one group got a big magnet and just moved it around on every tube seeing if there was metal or something in there. some made noise to depending on how you pulled the rope.
