Technology's effect on religion.

Religion is a major part of any culture. We have noted in class that technology is also a major part of culture and we have read some things about how technology and religion have affected each other in the past. In this thread address the following two questions:

1) How has technology's affect on religion been both good and bad?

2) How do you think religion will continue to change due to technology?

technologys impact on religeon is a bad thing and a good thing mostly its a bad thing because like mr. kruse said yesterday that when we get sick we mostly just go to the doctor than prey for ourselves to get better

Well, Gabriel was right when he said that we go to the doctor and ask for medication or antibiotics too much, when there could be many other things that we can do thats better for us.

Also it's becoming bad because we have gone so far with technology that people,scientist begin to question our ways of religion.

I kina agree with Gabe. technology has an impact on religion for what Gabe said. We just go to the Doctor to get some pills for the pain other than go to church and pray to get be 8-)tter

the good part is that when you use technology is that you are more aware of what is going on.

**The bad part is, is that you get pulled away as you get more into cause you get caught up in technology that you do forget what is going on around you.

I think Shanna is right, I also think that if you use to much technology then you get addicted to it and that is not always a good thing to have happen.

I also agree with shanna because as technology moves futher along many think that their religion is incorrect or that any religion that suports supernatural beings is or maybe wrong because there is no eivdence for or against it.

I am going to go with religion full on. Science is hurting religion, but also helping it in a way. It hurts it, because so much technology is getting new evidence, and it's making people doubt their OWN religion. People aren't the same way about religion nowadays. ALSO, it is really hurting it in the ways of satanism. That is kinda scary to actually think about. They are just getting new ways to do creepy things. :/
On the brighter side, it helps people ADVANCE in their beliefs. It gives peope of different religions different ways to do something tradtional.

I pretty much agree with you. Science and technology are pretty much fully affecting our religion. For many, hurting our beliefs. Before technology pepople used to go to church EVERY Sunday. Now only some do. They can't stand going an hour and a half without their cell phone or miss their favorite Tv show. But it helps people learn more about their religion too. They can now pull out a Bible and start reading abou ttheir religion and learn more.

I think that technology's effect has been good. Because it used to be that if you were sick or something, it was because you were cursed or something. And so you got killed. Either that or people thought you had bad blood if you were sick, so they cut you open and "let the bad blood out" which i guess led to people bleeding to death..
Now if you get sick, you get a medicine or something and you normally get better. (:

the invention of medicine has helped the human race out alot bc we arnt dieing off as fast if we didnt have the medicine
