Density is mass divided by volume.

I know that but how if you do math wrong know if something either sinks or floats.

well, it is most likely going to be under 1 if it floats. Because water has a density of one. And It has to have a lower density that the water to float.

Density is mass divided by volume. right but it is also what causes things to float on a liquid density up = sink density down = float
