Maybe It could be the way the earth is facing the sun or maybe it has something to do with the moon.

because the earth is very far away from the sun, if we didn't have greenhouse gases it would be very cold here.

If the Earth was half an inch across, and the sun was 5 and a half inches across, than the sun's heat would have to travel 16.36 yards. And the sun doesn't JUST target the earth. Lets just be glad it travels that far.

i think its bcause the earth is still really big no matter how far the sun can travel

It might be that during the night it gets colder than during the day because it is not facing the sun. Ithink that during the winter we get less sunligt and thats why its colder.

It depends on the way the Earth is facing. So it could be facing directly east while the sun is facing west.

yes the suns heat expands far but it has to fade eventually. during the colder mounths doesn't earth get fearther away than it is during the summer/spring seasons?

the sun's heat travels a very far distance so why does it get so cold on earth? I think it is caused by Which Side of the earth is facing the sun. Because when it is Winter and it'S cold here It's nice nd sunny somewhere else. But then there are places like california and mexico where it dosen'T really snow. which is why i wonder about my idea.

Even though the sun's rays carry a long ways and project light to certain places, it is still cold because the ray's are not directly on that certain place (i.e. the United States). Also, the seasons trigger the weather to make it snow or rain, and so on. So, basically the seasons just trigger the weather inside the earth's atmosphere to make the things such as: snow, rain, wind, etc.

even though the sun's heat travels a long way, it does not directly hit every place on the earth because of the earth's axis.

Think of how the closer you are to a fire, the warmer it seems because you are closer to the source. Heat diminishes over distance.

i aggree it is spreading all around, and if it is not fully facing one area, it will tend to get colder, but the sun is still around, just not directily towards that said area.
