www.chem.purdue.edu/gchelp/liquids/character.htmlThis site shows and explains some differences in how particles behave between the different phases of matter. It is most useful for helping to visualize particles. Some things to discuss: Why are these animated drawings more useful than a picture in a textbook? What limitations or problems might there be even with these animations?

it is better than a text book because the picture is animated but the problem with it is it isn't real particles

cool Mr. Kruse could you show the particles changing form soild to liquid to gas? that would be cool to see!!!

it shows a good picture of how the gas particles are spread out, liquids are close but still move, and solid things are close but still move a little.

A textbook can't show the animation. But the animated picture is not showing a real particles. So Either way both are limited.

Because this is a more realistic view of what we THINK is happening to the particales as they change from solid to liquid to gas. But the biggest problem with dealing with atoms and particales is their size and it is IMPOSSIBLE to see what exactly is going on so we just you our "thoeries" that answer them. And as always modles are only able to provide so much resource.

why is the word theory in quotes? You use it as though we are only guessing, yet accepted theories in science have incredible amounts of evidence behind them.

Because on the internet it is showing the particles moving around and in a book you cant see that.
